SEM 56
is a solid state pocket or handie radio for official use.
As handie portable a microphone is plugged on. If this microfone is used with a cable, you have a pocket radio.
Built in the early 70s, it is offered as a 2m- or a 4m- version, dual conversion receiver. The radio here is a SEM 56-1620, the 2m- version.
It uses mostly discrete semis except for 3 IC amplifiers in the ZF. Some features of its design continued
in SEM-52A later
Many accessories provide a universal use; there is for example a rod antenna, a spiral antenna or a hidden antenna;
or a wireless inductive earplug.
By using only two knobs, the operation is very simple:
One knob switches on/off and is used for loudness,
The second knob switches the squelch and tests the battery.
The charger is used for the NiCad- battery and for the button-cell of the earplug.
