is a transistorized portable radio for distress at sea with two-tone-alarm. It is built in a watertight plastic housing, capable of floating.

It works on 2182 KHz, the international frequency for distresses at sea. Every full and half hour this frequency must be kept free from traffic to hear even weak signals. Testing of the transmitter is only allowed when permitted by the authorities.

The two-tone-alarm effects that any traffic is stopped at once to listen to the SOS.
