VRC-240TG
is a mobile radio, consisting of:
Manpack-Radio AN/PRC-660T (Follow the link for descriptions and technical data)
HF amplifier /Power supply AM-2411TG and
Mounting MT-1029.
The radio set uses the upper (UHF) airband with AM mode.
It is used for ground to air and ground to ground transmission. It can be used as beacon or relais station.
The remote control set C 2410 TG can operate the VRC-240 up to a distance of 15 meters.

The Amplifier/PSU AM-2411TG

consists of two separate modules: the HF amplifier and the power supply.
The PRC-660 is inserted into the AM-2411TG, the HF connecting cable connects the HF- output of the PRC-660 to
the HF- input of the AM-2411TG.
The HF amplifier amplifies the output of the PRC-660 to 16 W, it also contains an NF amplifier.
The power supply provides the voltages for the inserted PRC-660, and the HF amplifier. Serving as DC/DC- converter the power supply stabilizes
a voltage of 22 ... 35V DC and provides + 28 V for the PRC-660 ; + 12V und - 12 V
for the HF amplifier.

The Mounting MT 1029

connects the VRC 240 TG to the mobile power; with an attached AM 2411 TG (HF-amplifier/PSU).

The Remote control C 2410 TG

is watertight. As option it can be connected to the connector "Remote" of the PRC-660.
(only then the battery indicator is taken off). It is a remote control for the PRC-660 and can store up to 20 channels.
The channels remain stored even after the radio set is switched off. The didplay of the frequencies may be switched off.
The radio set is shown here in two versions: :

RT-6261TG/PRC660TG. It has the usual channel switches.

RT-6261TG/PRC660. It has no channel switches, and is meant only for remote control. It has no "Vers.-Nr."
