ARI23237/1 is a British SAR radio for bailout pilotes. It is used as beacon as well as transceiver. In Great Britain these SAR radios are called >> Personal Locator Beacon <<. At bailout the international beacon frequency, 243.0 MHz is activated automatically and a beacon signal is sent out. The pilot can also transmit and receive on this frequency. An auxiliary channel on 282.8 MHz may also be used- but without the beacon function. The radio is built by Graseby Dynamics (former PYE Telecom)
