  ARI23237/1

is a British SAR radio for bailout pilotes. It is used as beacon as well as transceiver. In Great Britain these SAR radios are called
>> Personal Locator Beacon <<.
At bailout the international beacon frequency, 243.0 MHz is activated automatically and a beacon signal is sent out. The pilot can also transmit and receive on this frequency.
An auxiliary channel on 282.8 MHz may also be used- but without the beacon function.

The radio is built by Graseby Dynamics (former PYE Telecom)

243.0 MHz (beacon and voice radio)
282.8 MHz (auxiliary channel, voice radio only)
