RT-/PMC-12( )
was built in the USA in the late 60s by Stoner.
It is a fully transistorized HF Transceiver with 8 channels.
I could not find out where it was used.
It has SSB (LSB und USB), AM, and CW modes.
The nomencalture RT- /PMC-12( ) shows that it has a versatile use:
* RT- /PMC-12(P) means portable (manpack) use,
* RT- /PMC-12(M) means mobile use,
* RT- /PMC-12(B) means use as base station.
The RT- /PMC-12(P) consists of:
* Transceiver RT- /PMV-12( )
* Battery box and battery CY-1/PMC-12
* Handset H33-PT PMC-12(D)
* Whip antenna AT-1 PMC-12
* Dipole antenna system
* Carrying rack ST-1 PMC-12
* Morse key J47 PMC-12
The watertight housing is made of aluminium. The front plate carries all control elements.
The power connector on the back matches the battery (in the P-version), and (in the M- and B- version)
a power connection-cable.
The antenna (P-version) is a center loaded whip. It is connected to the side of the radio by a special plate .
Antenna and plate are not in the collection.
Even if used as portable version (P), a 35.5 foot long counterpoise is an essential part of the antenna system.
Without this counterpoise the range will be very much restricted, especially on lower frequencies.
