Antenna AS-2125 |
The Antenna AS-2109 was to replace the two antennas of PRC-25 and PRC-77, it seems. however,
that it never was fielded.
When collapsed it is as long as the tape antenna (AT-892:with Gooseneck 1 m long);
Uncollapsed it is as long as the long antenna (AT-271: with base 3m long).
The matching pin of the antenna is here operated by hand, this is the:
Problem zone of the antenna:
If, after changing the length of the antenna, the calibration of the pin is forgotten, damage to the radio may be the result.
- Antenna base AB-1036 / PRC
- is screwed to PRC-25 or PRC-77. The upper part can be bent and fastened in three positions,
so the radio can be used lying flat on a surface. The inclination of the antenna also can be changed.
The operation knob for the pin has two markings:- 3 UP: when used as a 3 foot long antenna, the pin must be invisible,
- 10 DOWN: when used as a ten foot antenna, the pin must be visible.
- Spring AB-1037 / PRC
- consists of :
- lower spring- part and
- upper massive part.
Base / spring / collapsed antenna element are as long as the short tape antenna AT-892;
- Antenna element AS-2125
- is 19 inches long when collapsed, and uncollapsed about 9 foot. The overall length
of base / spring / uncollapsed antenna is the same as the long antenna AT-271.
