  R-855 U

is a Russian SAR - Radio. It was issued in 1965 and was in use still 1995. It uses a built-in telescopic antenna.
All R-855 radios are connected to the battery by a cable. By keeping the battery under the clothing, it can be kept warm in arctic regions.
Comparison (Battery Priboy 1):

  • At 20 to 50 degrees C the battery works for 35 Std,
  • At 4 degrees C the battery only works for 5 hours.
    The color of R-855 U is yellow.
