FuG 6
was developed by SEL ; it was the first West German portable 2m BOS- radio . (BOS = public services).
It was used from the late 50s to the 60s.
SEL called it Kl 9 - this version is part of the collection.
It consists of two parts: Transceiver and vibrator power supply. The transceiver has the shape of a
handset, the vibrator power supply is connected to it by a cable and is carried on the belt.
The housing is waterprotected and consists of aluminium. An additional headset can be connected.
It is a tube radio with three channels, using 17 sub miniature tubes.
16 crystals are provided in a small wooden box, of which three can be inserted- after a small lid is opened.
It has a steel band antenna, stored and fastened like the PRC6- antenna: Wrapped around the housing and slipped through hinges.
